It has been a while since OLP has really dug its teeth into a cover song.

It's something we used to do a lot more. Neil Young, The Cars, Jeff Buckley and Massive Attack were artists we’d regularly cover and add into our sets.

While rehearsing for shows this summer we decided it was time to get back to that creative spirit. Take a great song we all liked and try to make it our own.

Oddly enough Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” was the first song we tried in rehearsal. Within 10 minutes we could tell there was something there. The original song has a heaviness, a heartache and yearning that’s always given me chills and our version gave me the same feeling singing it this past summer.

So as a Holiday gift to you guys we have included our version of Summertime Sadness for both your listening pleasure and to hopefully bring back some of those warm summer memories as the cold of winter sets in.
