Our Lady Peace

Fight the Good Fight

Our Lady Peace took to the streets in mid October to join thousands of activists, protesters and ordinary citizens to march in support of the OCCUPY movement, a global stand for accountability and transparency from corporations and government bodies. Spread across the continent between Los Angeles, Detroit, Toronto and New York City, the band encouraged fans to not only march for the OCCUPY movement, but also for all the other changes in the world they'd like to see. With the mantra "Fight The Good Fight" in mind, Raine joined Toronto's CityNews via Skype to discuss his day at OccupyLA and the band released this statement about their involvement with OCCUPY and what progress they're looking forward to.

The OCCUPY movement for us, represents a wide ranging frustration and outrage that most people we know in our communities are feeling. We are disheartened by the lack of accountability and transparency from both big business and our political leaders. The exciting thing about this movement is that, If nothing else, it may serve as the historical spark that ignites us all to demand more from our leaders, corporations as well as ourselves.

Encouraging fans to submit photos and videos of their experiences at the OCCUPY marches around the world, each member of Our Lady Peace also captured their days among each city (Raine in Los Angeles, Jeremy in Toronto, Steve in Detroit, Duncan in New York City), and together all the visual documentation became the video for "Fight The Good Fight".

Our Lady Peace were inspired to write "Fight The Good Fight" because of the OCCUPY movement and the general unrest among the ordinary. In turn, the band hopes that the song inspires you.
