Hey guys! In case anyone hasn't heard yet, this year we're working on moving all the information from the hub website directly into the CM. The first round of work is now complete! See the summary below and post any questions/suggestions/complaints/bugs here.

Main Menu

Information about additional bands and side projects can now be accessed from the menu.

Click Raine Maida and a new row of links will appear for information about Raine Maida solo work.

Click Other Bands and links to even more bands and side projects appear.

Click the name of another band for information about it.

Information about Live Recordings is now incorporated into the CM and can be accessed from the menu.

Live Recordings

The icon on the left indicates if a recording is audio or video. Clicking this icon expands the tracklist and additional information. Source information and file formats are also listed. White icons and text indicate the recording is in circulation on the hub, grey indicates that it is not.

Tour Dates

The Tour Dates page also shows icons indicating audio and video recordings of each date.

Small radio and TV promo performances are listed in grey, full scale shows are listed in white.

I got back from my honeymoon Friday night. But this was all completed a while ago except for adding the links for everyone to access it. Smile

I have a few suggestions for other bands/artists. You might need to be on Facebook to access pages though.

Billy Pettinger/Billy The Kid/ The lost boys

Raine produced a few tracks off Billys cd and she opened a few shows for him in 2008,. Here is her facebook page( from there you can find her twitter, myspace and webpages.

The Rescues

The Rescues are a great L.A bassed band. The reason they matter is one of Steve's close friends is in the band- Gabriel Mann. Plus Steve played on their first cd and with Gabe. He was playing with Gabe before OLP.

They just released their new cd..

Thanks for the suggestions.

Since we track tour dates, etc. it is a bit of a commitment for us to add more bands, so I think we want to keep it to the hub bands (OLP, Silverchair, Pedestrian), and other acts that have very direct connections in terms of band membership. Since Raine especially has worked with so many artists, it would become pretty unwieldy to have them all appear in the menu, and I think we want to keep it easy for the newer or more casual fans to discover things like the Jay McGroarty/Mike Turner tunes.

There are some other artists that can be found from the Band Index here which includes artists Raine has written songs for or produced -- this list should be updated though, it doesn't yet include Billy or Frankie Whyte etc: http://www.clumsymonkey.net/band_index.php

We also recently updated bios for all the bands in the expanded menus. If anyone would like to write new/better ones, you can post them in this thread.

Nice work Josh.

I like the interface.
Kinda slick and adds an extra bit of functionality to a message board.

Small suggestion for extra user friendliness ...

When you click on Other Bands then select (for example) Pededstrian, I think it would be nice to have the bio page pop-up as soon as you click on the bands name.

It would also be nice if that bands drill down menu stayed put.

If I want to navigate the Pedestrian topics I have to keep going back to Other Bands -> Pedestrian -> Bio, then Other Bands -> Pedestrian -> Lyrics, Other Bands -> Pedestrian -> Tour

You get the gist.

Nonetheless I think this should give people an easier route to keep (semi) up to date on the ever growing list of extra artists/projects inspired by/related to OLP.

so, does this mean adding tour dates and setlists to every band that's up there? or just the shows that we have recordings of?

I like the idea of the menu staying drilled down when following links, but that would require changing how it is coded. Currently it's just using a javascript function that was already included. If I think of a slick way to take care of it I'll make it persist when navigating to a new page.

In the meantime, once you have drilled down to a particular band and clicked on one of their links, there is always a link to the selected band's bio page which you can click on to get links to any of the other pages for that band.

ie the line of links that looks like this:

clumsymonkey.net -> band index -> Pedestrian

As far as adding tour dates and setlists to every band that's up there, yep, I am trying to do that. I think they're all filled out except Fair Ground and Crash Karma. I'm pretty good about keeping track of Pedestrian since they're local to me, and Silverchair doesn't usually tour a whole lot.
